I hate to write negative reviews but I want others to be warned. This appliance is definitely not worth $50. For one, it only spiralizes. This it does well with all kinds of veggies including carrots. But if you want to thin shred, wide shred, the blades in the cones for this purpose are not sharp enough. If you try to shred carrots, you only get a few shreds and then the cone eats up the rest of the vegetable. If you try to thin slice onion, you get a few slices and then the cone eats up almost all of the piece of onion that is suppose to get sliced. This is a waste of produce. Also, I think it was cowardly of Cuisinart to only demonstrate spiralizing zucchini--this is too easy because it is soft. They ought to demonstrate using all the features on different vegetables. This is a good spiralizer but nothing more. For this machine it is only worth paying $20, not $50. I got this because I have arthritis in my hands and the manual spiralizers are difficult for me to use. AFTER USING THIS MACHINE A FEW MORE TIMES THE ONLY THING IT SPIRALIZES IS ZUCCHINI. ALL OTHER PRODUCE THE CONES BREAK APART BECAUSE THE BLADES ARE DULL - A WASTE OF PRODUCE.
