They hooked me! I bought these to go with the Debbie Meyer mineral-infused storage boxes that absorb the ethylene gases in decaying food to delay spoilage. Therefore, as with many hurried shoppers I'm sure, I just saw the green color and jumped on the bandwagon thinking these had the same mineral properties. THEY DO NOT! Had I read the description carefully, I would have discovered their sole function is to allow air to circulate under produce in the refrigerator. Just like ANY 1/4 inch-thick piece of foam you can buy at ANY fabric store for less than $1.00! ANY COLOR FOAM WILL DO EXACTLY THE SAME THING - allow air to circulate under produce! It appears they've colored these foam sheets green to make them appear they have the same properties as the gas absorbing containers - THEY DON'T! Don't be fooled by this clever marketing into paying 1,000+ PERCENT MARKUP! Go to your local fabric store and buy 1/4-inch thick foam sheets, put them in the bottom of your veggie drawers, and SAVE 90 PERCENT!
