I dearly wish I had saved the box so I could return this beast.
I wanted to love this coffee grinder. I have used it for three weeks, but I'm finally giving up. I liked that it had a reservoir for beans, but that turned out to be the only positive feature. My issues were: -The noise. It is hard to describe how loud the sound is. The only thing I can compare it to is when I enter the workshop while my husband is cutting wood on the saw and I can't even shout to him; I just have to wait until he's done. It's that level of volume, and it has some of the saw sound's high-pitched quality that is the LAST thing you are prepared to hear in the morning before you have had coffee. -The time. It takes a weirdly long time to grind the beans. Maybe that's just a burr grinder for you, but coupled with the unacceptably loud sound, it's a horribly long wait. -The mess. Somehow this grinder creates a wild amount of static. I have no idea why, but it means that the grinds don't pour cleanly into your pot for brewing. They flutter, they fan, they stick to the outside of the grinder and to the outside of the pot. And they stick INSIDE the grinder so you have to get in there with the brush end of your bean scooper and try to free all the stuff that's stuck to the side. -The grind. I have mine set all the way to espresso-size fine, and I still see large hunks of beans. Perhaps a fine grind is just my personal preference, but I don't see how big chunks of unground beans are going to make a cup of coffee for anybody.
