I'm sorry, but SERIOUSLY?! There are SO ANY problems with this book. First, I think there may be TWO different issues...While viewing a cat video, yeah that's right, I was wasting time ;-) this commercial video came on for this book, funny thing, I already had the book so I ran to get it while watching the video. The author stated that on page 25 there would be a certain title...it was not. Then he said you would find another title on page 75, and again it was not correct. The author also said the book had 350 pages, while my book only has 319, so this is why I am thinking there are two different issues, mine is dated 2015. Someone who has the book, will you please tell me if the title on page 185 is: Building the Semi-subterrain Roundhouse and the title on page 270 Making Traditional and Survival Bark Bread? Then I'm REALLY bothered by the fact that there is no Glossary! Here I am reading about poultices (pg.126-127) and I'm stumbling on words like cataplasm, drams, anodyne balsam, ninebark decoction and humours, to name a few...geez! If I got this book and the grid went down the next day, I wouldn't have ANY CLUE what those words meant (because cell phones, tablets, laptops, etc. would all be flatlined so I couldn't look them up) so how the HECK would I know what these words mean without a glossary?! In addition, they only seem to give a tiny, tiny explanation of what the item they are talking about is, without giving REALLY IMPORTANT extra information. For example: The Native American recipe to treat an abscess. They tell you, with literally two sentences plus two bullet points and extremely UN-clear directions how to make the poultice. I would NOT feel comfortable making it myself BECAUSE of the lack of care in the instructions. Then, when I looked-up the words Ninebark decoction it tells me (ONLINE, you know the service that will not be on when the grid goes down...), that one needs to be VERY careful because excessive doses of the bark decoctions can be TOXIC!! The book forgets to mention that and that alone is very concerning to me. YOU NEED A GLOSSARY of funky words!!! I mean really...another cataplasm (A.K.A. poultice) says "expressed oil of mace; two drams and anodyne balsam, such as is sufficient to reduce them into a proper consistence"...yeah, really, let me get right on it! (Eye roll) If the author wanted to use old terms, that fine, but please put in parenthesis todays wordage so in a pinch we can follow the directions. The picture of the plants are absolutely AWFUL! You can hardly make out the plant so I'm not even sure if I could correctly identify the plant. I can go on and on...I'm sorry, but the book is a BIG FAIL in my book.
