★☆☆☆☆
Certainly written for the privileged ammosexual.
As a military family, this book is embarrassing to be connected at all to such a poorly written story. Maybe if it wasn't so hell bent on it's propaganda spin it would have had some kind of real meaning. Just another example of the troops being paraded around when it suits a group but not actually being taken care of in reality. There isn't any honor in this book. Plus, the "writer" this book was published under died in 2004, though I guess his Niece helped? Weird as most of things the book tried to manipulate to pull in an audience like safe spaces, white privilege, and trigger warnings were not big topics in the public eye back in 2004. So many things about this book just aren't right. In the end, I do not like to speak badly of any writers but when such a book is so bent on tossing groups of people and important topics under the bus, I feel like we can't be quiet.
