- Review Update 01-25-20. Zero Star if available.
If these stick samples actually do anything, I will rewrite my review. The "down the road" photos of a remotely possible outcome (a weeping willow tree) from these sticks really does mislead one. I have over 24 Bonsais with several purchased here on Amazon, usually from Brussels Bonsai. They all have been immensely successful in looks and growth. After a week in 4" of mildly enriched water, they are starting to shows small buds of roots. I have rooted several amazingly successful Bonsais from similar clippings But they were free from fellow Bonsaists. The price of $25 does seem a bit high when a 3-5 year growing tree fully potted can be purchased for that. urn out to be successful but I seriously doubt the sellers timeline for success. UPDATE 12.18.18: Received Sticks 12.10.18, placed in filtered water with a trace of fertilizer 12.10.18. Kept in a south facing window in Florida (Tampa area) with other Bonsai family. As of 12.18.18, very significant root and leaf/branch propagation. Potted first stick (small one), in Miracle grow potting soil, as it has feed nutrients included. See pics. Larger stick is showing small but healthy root and leaf growth. It will be difficult to accomplish a Bonsai potting look with the fat unyielding trunk. After 14 days./ Picture added. Potted. After 20 days./ Photo shows significant growth of leaves and preliminary branches. However, The "branches" are dying off slowly one-by-one from the top down. The development of branches on this ordinary stick will never grow into something that belongs in my Bonsai family.
