The definition of counterfeit: "Noun; A fraudulent imitation of something else; a forgery.' This product meets the definition exactly. This is NOT a Moen 1225 cartridge,it is a cheap Chinese made counterfeit. The cartridge comes in a plastic wrap labeled "Moen 1225." Wrong. This product is priced, sold as and labeled as, something it is not. If you want a cheap. lousy quality knock-off purchase the Danco version of this cartridge. At least they are open about it not being an original Moen brand part and price it accordingly. I work in the Plumbing business and have sold and/or installed thousands of Moen 1225 cartridges and am looking at this cartridge side by side with a genuine Moen 1225 I sourced directly from Moen. There is no doubt this cartridge is counterfeit. I write this review so strongly worded because I feel this seller has intentionally passed off a counterfeit as the real thing. Update: Amazon will not allow me to return this counterfeit item for full credit. They tell me I MAY be able to receive partial credit for the counterfeit product they sent me! WOW. I am an avid Amazon shopper, a Prime member and I never in my wildest dreams thought Amazon would push counterfeit goods. Do not purchase this item from Amazon! A note to everyone interested in Moen 1225 cartridges: All legitimate 1225 cartridges are made in the USA and come with a lifetime warranty. If it says "China" anywhere on your cartridge you have been scammed.
