Very poor quality
I would never buy these shoes again nor would I recommend them to anyone.
I really wish someone would have written an accurate review on these shoes who actually used them for hiking and saved me the time and money.
The very first hike I went on with the Trackers was about six miles up and down the foothills in Boulder CO, the shoes felt pretty good on the hike. After returning to my house the shoes have shown some pretty heavy wear already, the leather scratches really easy making the shoes resemble "beaters" after the very first hike. This wasn't a big deal for me because I bought the shoes solely for hiking and nothing else. But upon closer examination of the shoe, after just one hike there were three places where the rubber sole had begun to peal away from the shoe. At this point I was pretty disappointed.
After a few more hikes in the shoes totaling less then 30 miles overall there are eight different places where the rubber sole is pealing back from the shoe and the left shoe has nearly the whole front part of the shoe pealing from the leather around the toes. At fist I thought it was an issue with the adhesive connecting the rubber to the leather but upon closer examination the issue seems to be with the poor quality leather used, for the leather is remaining glued to the rubber, the leather is just ripping off of the shoe. The leather is nice and soft and would probably look nice on a casual pair of street shoes but in my opinion has no business on whats appeared to be advertised as a hiking shoe.
On top of all that I must say that the tread is rather uncomfortable, it feels like a grid of pressure points across the bottom of your feet. Also the tread is not very durable, for in the first 30 miles the main hexagon tread things on the front balls of my feet that create the most pressure have both ripped off and the surrounding ones are beginning to tear.
After all that, contacting vivobarefoot about the issue was a complete joke, I don't believe they even read the emails i sent them. I received generic replies that disregarded what I was asking them. They said if you ordered from us in the past six months then the shoes are under the "sustainable guarantee". Whats funny about this is that they have not sold these shoes on their webpage in the past six months. After telling them I purchased the shoes through amazon they said "if you ordered from us in the past six months then the shoes are under the "sustainable guarantee" send us your order number." I sent them the order number they told me I ordered the shoes from amazon, even though I communicated that in my previous two emails, and that Id have to figure it out with amazon.
Not only was I disappointed with the poor quality of the shoes but it may have been the worst customer service I have ever received. I feel these are "hipster" fashion shoes and not for actually hiking in.
I don't know if its just me but i expect my shoes to last longer then a few months. Very disappointed in vivobarefoot, poor quality high prices.
