I will be throwing this away.
Two stars only because it does make a nice pot of tea--but that's in spite of all the other problems it has.
1. The lid doesn't fit without the infuser.
This is a pain for those who don't believe tea should be kept in the pot after steeping has finished. Rather than being able to simply remove the infuser and cover the pot with a lid, I have to carefully clean out the burning hot infuser and place it back inside the pot--all this just to be able to function as an actual teapot. Ultimately, I ended up purchasing an extra infuser to make this pot work, but now I still have to use the bulky infuser-lid combo just to close the pot after steeping. Frustrating!
2. The lid of the pot is weighted by the ball on top, causing it to flip upside down if not carefully placed.
This is more of a design flaw and minor annoyance, but bothersome nonetheless.
3. With use, the infuser no longer fits snugly in the opening, causing it to fall out while pouring.
The metal clips that hold the infuser in place get worn with use. Now, while pouring to get the last of the tea out of the pot, the lid and infuser come crashing out.
As the title states, this pot is officially going in the garbage--after only a month of use. A complete waste of money!
