I purchased this product about 4 months ago after having used Cosamin DS for five years with great results. I have osteoarthritis in my hands and was experiencing clicking and stiffness in one knee. The Cosamin DS worked wonders. While I know there is no cure for osteoarthritis, I can tell that the pain is reduced and I believe the progression is slowed by my continued and regular use of Cosamin DS. I tried the new improved version because I believe in the product. However, after a month on ASU I began to notice unusual symptoms that could not be attributed to common factors. It occurred to me that I should re-read the ingredients and I found one ingredient that I have reacted to unfavorably in the past and two others not found in the original Cosamin DS. I stopped taking ASU and went back to my original dosage of DS and four weeks later am back to relative comfort. Consumers need to be aware that not all added ingredients will be the best combination for their individual needs and just because a manufacturer of a good product offers an improved version it does not guarantee it will be better for everyone. ASU is not the right product for me to use and I felt I should share the experience I had. I love Cosamin DS!
