Do not buy this! The toaster with a view is a nice concept. But this implementation is horrible. As others have reported, the toaster quickly develops a problem where the lever will not stay down. To solve this, you can manually hold down the lever to make it toast. Or, sometimes you can turn the toaster over the sink and bang it for a while and then try again. Only about a 50/50 chance of that resolving the issue. I suspect the problem is some sort of circuit that in theory prevents the toaster from causing a problem/fire if the user has let it fill up with crumbs. However I will assure you that this happens even if the inside is kept totally free of any crumbs/residue. The "latch" is magnetic, so whatever circuitry has failed is a mystery. We have only had the toaster 9 months and for at least 6 months of that time we have fought this issue. We are finally throwing in the towel and buying a new (and hopefully far more reliable!) toaster. If you want something usable, skip this one. Cute, but useless.
