I just bought this set based on the good customer reviews. I attempted to cut a pineapple today with the largest knife and the handle literally snapped off while making the first cut. This was also the first time I even used this particular knife. I tested the others to see if this was indeed a bad set and they all held strong and showed no sign of bend or fatigue. When looking at the break point, I noticed that the steel was dark and almost rusted in color. I'm summing this up to a manufacturer's defect. I'm just glad the blade didn't fall and strike my leg or foot.
