I beg of you, do not watch season 4! After being captivated by seasons 1-3, season 4 left me feeling as jilted as Eleanor was by Finn. If there is one thing I can't stand, it's when writers betray the characters they themselves created. Eleanor and Marsham are completely unrecognizable, as these characters that you have come to know and truly like, have been sickeningly perverted from the inside out. But not only did these two characters dramatically change, the mood and tone of the story is warped also. This is a total departure from the rest of the series, like radical surgery where the first 3 seasons were lopped off, and a new story with "new" characters replaced them. Several characters are missing. One of them, Robert, whose part added a significant layer to the series, has been amputated from season 4. The music throughout season 4 sounds like a musicbox which lends a creepy, dark edge to the story. At times I wondered if I had wandered into a horror flick. I even checked to see if season 4 was written by someone other than those who wrote the first 3 seasons because of the violent shift in the storyline. Strangely enough, same writers. Did they lose their minds? I couldn't even finish watching season 4 I was so disgusted. What a butchered ending to what was, in the beginning, a lovely story. Sigh...
