First off, I'm a mechanical engineer and deal with large manufacturing. I've been using these blades for almost 5yrs. Within the first couple years these came out, they were great, blades stayed sharp, smooth, very little variation between cut height. Now, their manufacturing seems to have opened their process parameters such that I've noticed a large variation in the blade cutting height, the blade sharpness and the smoothness of the diamond pattern. In my opinion it looks like their quality control isn't catching certain quality issues and now about every other blade I get is garbage from the beginning. They also added this wear through coating on the face which essentially changed the way their blades are coated from several years ago. I would really like to see the quality of these blades return, but knowing Philips, they're all about cost and not quality so those changes won't likely happen. And just to let you know, I also used to work for Philips.
