Well, the device was working well until recently. Slingmedia decided that it would be a great idea to start injecting advertisements into the software that is required for use. Yes - the desktop and website both have HUGE advertisements plastered on them - they even obstruct the guide and make the screen smaller. I can understand a free app for my phone or tablet having ads, but this is ... well ... totally despicable. It's like if I drove to your house and put stickers on the side of your TV. The best part is that as of this review, the marketing material advertises a ADVERTISEMENT FREE desktop application. Bottom line - even if you block the server that hosts the ads (apollo.slingbox.com) you still get advertisements. If you don't, they are even worse. I'd buy something different. Slingmedia is disgusting and should be ashamed.
