"Safety" button makes it virtually unusable.
Once upon a time, the Cuisinart Smart Stick was one of my most used kitchen gadgets. Finally, after years of service, the motor gave out on me. I obviously wanted to replace the product with the same, flawless, simple design as the one that I just lost. This is not that item. I can get over the two button, high-low, shenanigans. But I can't get passed the safety locking mechanism. It is so poorly placed that I need to either hold the blender awkwardly with one hand (so I can actually hold the container so it doesn't spin out of control) or I have to use two hands to operate the safety and the power. Because you can't operate the blender without holding down the safety button at the same time. Sure, once it's running you can pull your finger off the safety, but that means you can't pulse. Because as soon as you pull your finger off to pulse, it locks in the off position. This is such a terrible design and I am floored that this ever got put out as viable product. How does this even have good reviews? This is an abomination compared to their old immersion blender. I sent it back and will never buy another one. Time to start looking for a different brand. Adios, crap stick... your long lost older sibling was loved and will be missed but you won't.
