WORTHLESS JUNK PRODUCT ....HERE IS A BETTER SOLUTION
This is an extremely poor product. Here are the two (2) major things that are wrong with this product and a suggestion that works much better. First, the corrugated paper absolutely will not stick to either the tree bark or to itself or even to masking tape or clear sticky packaging tape. I tried wrapping it twice to three times around the trunk of 4" diameter apple tree trunks; as soon as you let the end go loose the entire paper lets loose in a mess and you have to start over. Forget about holding it in place and using a bit of masking tape or clear packaging tape to hole the wrap in place. That DOES NOT work at all; the tape will not stick to the paper. I had to wrap the entire paper all the way around the trunk with tape to get the tape to stick to itself and hold the paper wrap in place. YOU MIGHT AS WELL USE THE TAPE ALONE ! The second design problem is that the paper leaves significant gaps on any rough bark tree trunk that unless filled with Tanglefoot will allow ants to crawl right under the paper avoiding the sticky covering completely....what a disaster and what a poor product !!! Here is a better solution....go to the home store and buy a roll of pink or blue plastic foundation seal. It comes in about a 6 inch wide roll and will do 100 trees or more. Wrap only one layer of the plastic seal around the trunk...seal with any kind of tape...then smear the Tanglefoot over the plastic wrap. The stuff will expand with the trunk growth, is completely weatherproof and will not drive you nuts like this really, really, poor Tangle Guard product. IT'S A NO BRAINER NOT TO BUY THIS JUNK PRODUCT.
