We got this can opener in late September. It lasted about eight months to the day before the handle started spinning without moving the can opening gear. It just spins all day and doesn't open a thing. This is after it started rusting nearly instantly after its first use. Do not trust the KitchenAid brand on this one. At eight months, it is out of the return window for Amazon and looks like we are out of luck with KitchenAid as well. Don't waste your money on this piece of junk. Even at $10, it is very much overpriced.
