Disappointed. I think I just got a lemon. This is my 2nd Paperwhite; finally got the husband to try my Kindle and he loved it so much I gave it to him and ordered me the second generation. There's a large dark triangle shadow at the bottom left corner that shouldn't be there on the new PW2. I'll call Amazon today and I know they'll replace it and I'll update this review when the new one comes and all is good. Update: Nov. 12, 2013 Before I could call Amazon, they called me. I guess someone monitors these reviews. After our house guests left I had time to call Amazon CS and they had a new Kindle Paperwhite 2 sent to me. It just arrived an hour ago. Disappointed again. The replacement Paperwhite 2 doesn't have any shadows or dark areas but the entire screen is only about 3/4 the brightness of the first Paperwhite 2 when both are set on Max brightness. Photos are added to product image gallery. Robert at Amazon is sending me a 3rd Paperwhite 2. In my opinion this generation 2 is not different enough or upgraded enough to warrant an upgrade from the Paperwhite Generation 1. Generation 2 definitely eats up the battery more quickly and I find myself charging it much more often than I did the Generation 1. (Hubby is loving my original Paperwhite.) However, I still believe the Paperwhite is the best Kindle, yet, and worth the upgrade from any of the other Kindles except Paperwhite Generation 1. Will update here when my third PW2 arrives in two days. Update: November 14, 2013 I just received my third PW2 which is a replacement for the 2nd PW2 that was a replacement for my first PW2. New photo is posted in product gallery showing all 3 Paperwhites, fully charged, set on MAX (24) light level. I'm really confused now. Which of these is the correct "white" screen? This 3rd PW2 is even more gray/green than the 2nd PW2 but there are no shadows or dark spots. Spencer in Amazon CS wanted me to charge the third PW overnight and he'll call me in the morning. I don't understand how charging it fully will make it brighter? Will update with what Amazon chooses to do.
