My dog loved this bed but sadly he threw up all over it within the first week, which never happens. So thinking it was waterproof, I take off the cover to wash it, and the entire memory foam (the inside piece) was saturated with throw up and there isn't an easy way to wash it so I had to throw it away. My understanding was it is waterproof and it isn't, just to clarify so this doesn't happen to someone else. Very sad as it was a great dog bed.
