I knew I was taking a chance on this waffle maker after seeing the bad rewiews. I was hoping I'd be one of the lucky ones. I love the Oster Waffle maker I have, but I wanted more versatility. I Thought I'd give this a try. At under $30 why not?! Well nope! After plugging it in and waiting forever for it to heat up, I smelled something that smelled like chemicals burning. There was smoke coming from the machine. Not smoking from oils or anything cooking because I hadn't put anything on it yet. I was plugging in to make sure it worked. It was smoking internally. My house smelled like a chemical plant. Yuck and no way was my family gonna eat anything from this toxic fire hazard. Other cons... -Removable plates appear to have that nonstick coating that comes off over time. Cheap chemical yucky nonstick coating that's going to be in your food. Y'all know what I'm talking about -No temperature setting and takes forever to heat up. Forget convenience. Pros... -Removable plates -Snap closure -Affordable However affordable as it is you definitely get what ya pay for with this. Not worth it. Great for the people who liked it, but I bet if they did an update they'd have a different opinion. No way is this thing gonna last ya long with the way it's made. If it does well when you first get it, I don't think it will be good for long. Shame on you Black and Decker! I expect a bit better from such a big name company! Returned for refund YOU'VE BEEN WARNED FELLOW AMAZON SHOPPERS. BUT FEEL FREE TO TRY LIKE I DID. YOU MIGHT GET LUCKY...OR YOUR HOUSE MIGHT CATCH FIRE! GEEZ BLACK AND DECKER 🙄👎🏼
