EXCESSIVE SHRINKAGE MAKES THIS NOT WORTH $118. WATCH OUT!
This arrives very nicely packaged tied in a cotton ribbon inside a cotton drawstring bag which is inside a sealed clear plastic bag. It is nicely sewn/quilted. I immediately washed it as per the attached washing instructions (warm water, low heat dryer.) It looked fantastic when I took it out of the dryer. The quilted circles were puffed up and it looked like it was going to be quite comfortable. I put it on my 60"x80"x13" queen sized mattress (I measured the mattress) and the disappointment set in. The elastic skirting barely fit under the corners of the mattress. The sides are too short to tuck under the mattress. The actual pad is about 2 inches short on the foot and one side. Trying to even out the shortness all around makes the elastic slip off the corners. This was advertised to fit a much deeper queen sized mattress. I haven't slept on it yet. If it stays put, I will keep it. If it comes loose I will return it at amazon's expense.
Aside from the excessive shrinkage, this is exactly like the mattress pads that everyone had in the 1960s, except they were about $10 back then. The really sad thing about this is this is how almost everything is on amazon.com now. Nothing is as it is advertised. The products are not from the country stated. They are not the size or quality stated. Amazon.com used to be a very trusted site where you knew you were getting what was claimed. Not anymore. Now it is no different than ebay. I guess Jeff is making so much money that he no longer cares about the quality of his business. I think amazon is now a place to window shop for price, and then purchase from a reliable and truthful seller. I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS OVERPRICED MATTRESS PAD!!!
