★★☆☆☆
pretty much endless crash reports
Do not buy! This product is not ready for release. 1) You cannot build it without the app--that's where all the instructions are. BUT you cannot access the instructions without jumping through a lot of hoops. 2.) The app gets stuck in an endless firmware update cycle which prevents you from getting to the build instructions. So while you could and should be building, you have to repeatedly press a button on the kit's motor and then wait for an update to download. Then repeat, repeat, repeat. I'm on the 10th cycle right now, right in the middle of a build, so my daughter and I are stuck, unable to progress. 3.) Read of he reviews for the app on the iOS or Google store: pretty much endless crash reports. Again, this wouldn't be so bad if you could just get through the build, or if they'd included directions in the box, or even on the Lego website. But this is the only kit for which Lego offers no online instructions. They'll probably work out the ups eventually, but for now: this is a defective product. Lego should be offering refunds to all those like myself who pre-ordered. They released a product that was not ready.
