Save your Money and Give it to Charity
First of all, this is not a memoir. I'm surprised that the 'highly educated' Ms. Judd would label it as such. This book is about her pet charity, PSI, and what how it educates women worldwide. If I had wanted to read about PSI, I could've saved the $12.99 (the Kindle price, which is ridiculously high) I spent.
Although I have always admired Ms. Judd for her impeccable acting she came across in this book as a snob. Especially as she was recalling one episode in Kenya where she snapped at a tourist who innocently asked her if she were on safari. The author, wrote "I hope I ruined her day". Wow!!! I was shocked at those 6 words. Okay, so she was there crusading for PSI, not a tourist. How was this innocent person suppose to know that?
She is no different than her mother and sister. All three have a warped sense of the "we're better than everyone else" entitlement. In reality they are still as dysfunctianal as they've always been.
Save your money, if you want to read a "Memoir" - read Out of Africa. That was written by an author that Ashley Judd mentions. That's a 'memoir.
