I purchased the Kohler K596 in Stainless Steel in February 2009 to replace a very old Delta that had given up the ghost. The Kohler wasn't the least expensive but I figured that you get what you pay for. The installation was very simple and the unit worked great for 16 months - albeit with minor problems with the spray head getting stuck between "shower" and "stream". However, in June 2010, a "fine mist" leak developed that soaked everything under the sink and the carpet in the basement below. We were able to clean up the mess, I called Kohler to avail myself of their "Limited Lifetime Warranty", and spoke to a very nice CSR. I reiterated several times that the problem was NOT with the supply lines but instead was emanating from the joint between the valve body and the copper lines to which the supply lines attach. I was told that the parts were on back order and would ship within 14 days. That wasn't a huge deal because my family and I were out of town on vacation. I was surprised when the package arrived from Kohler with - you guessed it! - new supply lines! I called again yesterday and made the CSR repeat, "it's not the supply lines" several times! He promised to send me a new faucet but THAT'S on back order too. Now I'll have to wait another 7 days (plus shipping time) to address the issue. Three weeks and counting without a resolution (or the use of our kitchen sink!) is a little much, don't you think?
