I wish I could rate it as a 0! I purchased this item after reading many of the reviews. Most of the negatives were that it was very light and not all that sturdy. I would have to agree, but the unit looked nice when I pulled it out of the box. When I plugged it into my wall outlet (the one that I use every night for my phone charger), the unit vibrated, made a loud whooshing noise and started emitting smoke that smelled like burnt wires! Oh yeah, it also tripped my bedroom breaker and I lost half the lights upstairs. Obviously something was not wired correctly inside the unit. I am returning the unit for a refund. This scared the *$!& out of me and I will not ever utilize this brand again. They call this a Smart outlet, but there was nothing smart about it. I looked for a marking on the unit or the box to find out where it was manufactured, but there was none. I would assume China of course because the "owner's manual" was a small printed piece of paper with the grammar of a third grader. You would think that if a company had things made in China or imported the items, they would at least proofread the directions. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM
