I've gotten these fans in the past and they were excellent, but I bought another set and their performance was lackluster. In the video I posted I have a fan from the first time I purchased on top, and a fan from the most recent set I purchased on the bottom. They are receiving the same PWM signal from the CPU fan controller, but the bottom fan is drastically slower. Additionally, either the friction on the motor is too great, or the motor stall torque is too low; either way, the result is that the fan does not have enough torque to restart at steady voltage conditions. The overall performance of the fan is lackluster, and the entire box performed similarly. I've already requested a return label, and I'm hoping the replacement does not have this performance issue. I'm giving it 3 stars because the first box I purchased was excellent, and I hope I can update my review when I get a replacement set of fans. Update: I got a replacement set of fans and they are exactly the same: subpar compared to previous fans of the same make and model. I uploaded a new video showing how the RPM and torque are lower on the same pin compared to an older version of the fan, even with only 2 fans on the same header. I normally have two of the same older model Arctic fans as well as two other fans running on the CPU header with no problem; the newer fans are just not as good.
