If a book is just the start of the whole story, then I want that information BEFORE I buy the book. If a writer can't get the whole plot between the covers of one book, then the least the writer can do is forewarn readers/buyers. The best the writer can do is learn to be concise. Introduce the characters within a setting, develop the plot and characters and get to the climax of the story. Don't leave readers hanging!
