This coating is NOT supposed to diminish even with gentle washing. I did not know about it and continued to cook with sauce that covered these three nail heads exposed and microscopic coating mixed in with my food. Ozeri sent me a replacement and short like about within two months of use, the same coating on the nails were rubbed off. If you have this pan, don't think getting a replacement would resolve you already ingesting the chemical of the coating that mixed in with your food. This company should stop making this coating at the nail, other companies with stainless steel products don't need the chemical spray coating on the nail heads.
