Right of the bat you can tell this is some PC BS. back in them days, no one would think of handing over such an investment to a neurotic woman or woman of any kind. Just the way they were. This is just not true. This is most likely based on Henry Tracey Coxwell or one of the other brave and daring men who took such risk.
