I bought these for my elderly tri-pawed lab mix, to give him more traction on our tile floors. I bought the x-large, hoping they wouldn’t be too snug. They are essentially balloons. Even though the size was supposed to fit dogs up to 30lbs larger than my dog, the width of the opening of the shoe was no wider than my thumb. In comparison, the “balloon” part was huge, much bigger than my dogs paw. The first time we tried them I put them on (very snug fit around the leg) and then we took them off five minutes later. They seemed to help his traction, so the next day we left them on for a few hours. I should have checked more often, I’ll never forgive myself. When I went to take the shoes off a couple hours later, my dogs paws were swollen to twice their size. We spent an anxious night getting my dog immediate medical attention and getting the swelling down. The shoes went straight into the trash. After being conservative with measurements with these shoes and seeing how tight they actually are, I couldn’t justify any dog wearing these for five minutes let alone longer than that. This is a dangerous product. If my dog had been a human baby, this product would be recalled in a heartbeat. Be warned, do not buy.
