I bought this to have on hand for mud season. When I opened the package and unrolled the walkway I discovered two splintered areas where the cord that holds it all together was breaking through the boards rather than threading down the middle of them. It clearly would not stand up to foot traffic for long, given that it was already breaking. The plastic fittings and cording also emitted a nasty chemical odor that you could smell from a distance, although I suppose that would dissipate outdoors. I requested a refund, and the company was quick to agree to one. Their return shipping said something about the penalty if I chose to use my own shipping, but they did not provide a prepaid option until I requested it. When it arrived I packaged the unit up and drove it to the UPS office. Today I got my refund. I paid $54.95 for the defective walkway and $12.99 for shipping defective goods. My refund was $48. The email confirmation said something about "breakdown of refund," under which it said "refund: $48." I understand restocking fees, but this was a return of shoddy quality control on top of shoddy workmanship. I'm happy to donate $20 to a cause I believe in, but Amazon and Plow and Hearth are not those causes.
