We have another Braun thermometer that we have had for 24 YEARS and it still works....after three children and two adults use. We needed another thermometer so I went with this one, because we have had such great luck with the other one. We have used this thermometer maybe 10 times since we bought it, and it has already stopped working. The screen and light just keep flashing. We have changed the batteries, changed the lens cover, nothing works. We take excellent care of our things and keep our medical items in a plastic bin with a lid in the hall closet. There is no reason on our end for this failure. We are very disappointed in this thermometer. Just FYI, this thermometer is made in Mexico ***UPDATE*** I contacted Braun and let them know that the thermometer stopped working. They had us ship it back to them and they sent us a new one at no cost. This process took a couple of weeks. Customer service was good. I opened up the new one and took my temperature 5x in each ear...and every single reading was different ranging from 96.1 to 98.2. So, the new one they sent me doesn't seem to read correctly. At this point, If I could give this thermometer ZERO STARS, I would. BUYER BEWARE. C'mon Braun, get your act together. You used to make good products. What happened? I guess Braun is just not a name I can trust anymore. This is a medical device that people rely on to be accurate, and for some, an incorrect reading might cause them some health issues, not knowing they have a fever. Not good...
