I am making these stairs work for now with some extra support but cannot recommend as these stairs are likely to collapse with little to no weight - the way the support for the stairs clicks on is not reliable - it detaches with little to no effort or weight. I have a senior kitty who needs to definitely be safely supported so I will soon purchase another alternative. Only purchase with caution - and be prepared to do some rigging or use of extra support underneath. If you are using the stairs for a larger/heavier animal, though, I would be very uncertain of these being a safe option. My cat is only 6 pounds.
