★☆☆☆☆
Deeply Disappointing
While I agree with the author's assertions about translogical thinking, I was stunned by his narrow conclusion, which is basically a bad altar call. He decides Christianity most aligns with his scientific views and a version of Christianity that is obviously evangelical is what he then presents. Earlier in the book he makes assertions about animals that are uninformed and I would advise him to apply his own translogical thinking there instead of portraying animals as creatures without a spirit. How would you know, Michael Guillen? He also takes a dig at transgender individuals, which along with his supersessionist remarks about Christianity vis-a-vis Judaism and his aforementioned conclusion about animals caused me to return the book. For the record I'm seminary trained with an M.Div. (Master of Divinity degree) and I'm quite familiar with the Bible. This book had a great beginning with some interesting propositions but it turned into the equivalent of a religous tract. In the end, Guillen's God is small and doesn't reflect much light.
