Great Lock - But Good Luck Getting Many To Use It
I have had a couple package thefts, specifically one following an amazon delivery truck and after the truck delivered they perp came up and walked off with the package. So I decided to address this. After paying the hefty price for this lock and a lock box, I have been unable to get a mail carrier from any delivery service other than one adventurous UPS delivery guy to use it. Sadly the guy using it found it dead on arrival without a charge. None of the amazon direct delivery agents use it. They place the package dead center in clear site ready for theft. I reverted to a standard combo lock, left on the box without being closed I got a few more takers. None of the instructions on how to get delivery to use it are of any value because 1) the urls are too darn long to type and 2) there is no specific way to say to use this lock and 3) Amazons own contract services don't follow. Feels like an extravagant over priced solution. I am a gadget person but I would say hard pass on this until the delivery services get more real about it. The charge is not held long enough to leave the lock out for several day. The delivery companies have no idea what to do.
