The unit arrived promptly. I installed in my Ford Edge and it sits neatly on the console under the dash overhang. Upon powering it up, I noticed that the thermometer defaulted to celsius - no problem - all I had to was open the small battery door in the base and slide the switch to Farenheidt. I did that and everything seemed to work perfectly. The compass was easy to calibrate and matches the readings on my GPS. Upon powering off the unit and back on again, I discovered the temp reading reverted to celsius. Once again I opened the door in the base and moved the switch from F to C and to F again. The reading was F again but when powered off and back on, it reverts to C. If the switch position is F, the temp reading should stay F. Very disappointed in the shoddy workmanship of this unit.
