I am very skilled at construction and assemblage and this is without doubt the WORST product I have had the displeasure of assembling… 1st thing you should know, the last statement in the instructions, after you have assembled it, is "This box is not waterproof." 2nd: the suppled screws are the wrong size for the metal parts they are supposed to go with! I had to replace them at my hardware store. I also had to purchase some waterproof caulking to seal the box after supplier confirmed (sort of) that it might not be waterproof enough to keep things dry even in occasional summer showers. The supplier has been reasonably helpful and offered 15% off for my troubles so far, BUT 3rd: the gas springs supplied do NOT "snap" on the metal balls without exceptional force (beyond my hands so I used rubber mallet). They too are not manufactured to fit correctly! They have thin sheet metal strips on the plastic ends that bend easily and render them useless...I was able to bend one back and get it snapped on, but the other is a loss and I am now waiting for them to tell me if they will send replacements. This could be a nice product at a reasonable price but there are obviously no quality controls and inexact tolerances/communication between the parts suppliers to this product ; ( So much for "heavy duty and outdoor" in the description, and this box was even one listed in a search for waterproof deck boxes...buyer beware I guess!
