I should have probably done more research before ordering, but hopefully people can find my review helpful to made a good decision. This might be the speaker for you if you are looking for a loud party speaker that replaces a DJ for an event/party. Overall the unit isn't water resistant (like many portable speakers), the battery life says 10 hours - but that is only on low volume not on regular volume. You will get under 10 and bad part is that batteries just hold less and less charge over time, so after a bit this won't be useful as a portable speaker. Yes, they do offer an $85 extended batt, which should have probably be the standard, but looking at the reviews on that batt - people had issues with it (google it). Sound - I will tell you that if you like Bass and good balanced mids, this speaker sounds good. I think it sounds better than most and is compatible to JBL, Marshall and Bose. Marshall, JBL ,Bose have a better battery life (around 20-24 hours) plus they have been around forever, this AIWA is brand new company and who knows if they will be around... see below Now after getting it, I noticed on the box that it was made in China, then I opened it and there is a notice that the AIWA brand is not associated with Sony on a packing flyer. After doing research now I realize why the company didn't have the aiwa.com webpage, it's because it's not the AIWA company most people knew back in the day, which was a Japanese brand/technology. They just took the name that Sony didn't renew the brand. What I found somewhat weird is that so many people commented on this company's website that they remember how great Aiwa was and they grew up with it. People, it's not the same company! So basically it's just a marketing move on their part that people associate with what they know and trust the product, which I didn't realize until after I researched it in depth. I'm just hoping the parts used in this are just as well researched/dependable, but it's a gamble because this is the company's first/only bluetooth speaker. Overall summary is that sound is awesome, but other brands also sound pretty good + come with way more features.
