I purchased this combo pack, and the Lawn Mower back in September of 2020. The blower has worked fine, but with the trimmer I noticed about 3 months into owning it that the trimmer would turn off randomly. My experience with other trimmer is if something is too thick the motor will stop. It's never a big deal with gas powered trimmers. I made the decision to just use it on my lawn grass just to be safe, and avoid anything thicker. Months into owning it the problem would still happen even on grass where it would turn off, especially when I would tilt it slightly to get different angle cuts. About 8 weeks ago the trimmer just stopped turning on... It would spin a few times, and then turn off. After contacting Ego support they said to drop it off with Home Depot (Funny thing is, Home Depot does not even sell the product). Long story short, because it is a REAL long story of headaches, Home Depot charged me $30 to drop it off with them, and told me it would take 6 weeks to fix it. About 4 weeks into the repair I was told by Home Depot that the trimmer was being sent to a Home Depot service center, and they would handle it from there. I wait a week, and receive a call from them telling me that the trimmer would not be covered under warranty because "I used it incorrectly" and they said it would cost me $240 to fix just the trimmer. I told them I never used the trimmer any differently that I used other trimmers, and what was the proof that I did not use it "correctly". Their response was that the tech looked at it, and determined it. ... That's it. Nothing else. Now I'm on a rollercoaster of trying to get Ego to cover the Trimmer which they said they would, but because Home Depot is saying it's not covered under Warranty that they can't cover it. So now i have to pay almost double the cost of a new trimmer to get my old one back.... Ill update this review if this issue is every fixed, but for now I've been having to ask my neighbor to trim my weeds.
