I received this speaker as a Christmas present one week ago. It's a cool little speaker, looks attractive and is easy to use. However, whenever it is connected to my iPhone it emits a high-pitched dog whistle-like squeal. Very high in pitch, but constant, whether its playing music or not. The squeal is very annoying, because once you have heard it you always hear it. I cannot enjoy listening to music on this device because the squeal distracts me. If I turn the volume WAY up I can no longer hear the squeal, but I don't want to use this only on the highest volume. Not very compatible with an office environment. I sent an email to Alpatronix's customer service earlier this week and have not received a response after 72 hours. Don't know anything about this company, would like to return this for another one to see if mine is defective or if the squeal is a by-product of the Bluetooth connection. Would like to rate better than one star, but I can't listen to this speaker. ******UPDATE****** 1/10/2014 Following the Christmas break I was contacted by Alpatronix and they were very concerned with my dissatisfaction. They shipped out a new unit with return postage paid for the old one. Very courteous to do with and very prompt. The new unit sounds better and I should get many hours of enjoyable use out of it.
