I have read some awful books in my life, and I’ve never felt compelled to review them. I was excited to read this, as I loved the Butterly Garden series. But I can’t even force myself to finish this book. It is reductive to the extreme—men are evil, women are victims. The characters are stereotyped and shallow. The issues raised in the book are beaten into your brain with heavy hands, and they are delicate issues to be handled with nuance. I started to even wonder if the author had actually attended college, since her writings of it are so far from reality. I used my free Prime download for this book, and I paid too much for it.
