This purchase was a huge mom fail on my part. I pictured my son and I beating this heat wave in a epic way. Think movie montage where the whole family is having a blast with lots of laughter, I even had music blaring with some happy summer tunes to really set this mood. We were doing this! We were disconnected from our electronics, enjoying the sunshine, AND our time together. That was until we got this pulled out of the box and set up. We were still pretty optimistic when we opened it. Even setting it up you could feel the excitement rising. Set up was simple so there IS some positives. I turned the water hose on and it starts filling up the outside edges and the “pool” part at the end. Here’s where it starts to disappoint. The side the hose connects to is the only side that got water to sprinkle out of it. These super cute high fountains of water sprouting out the sides of the slip and slide did not happen. They were maybe 2 or 3 inches tall if that and most of them didn’t even face the slide part to keep it wet! Don’t get me wrong I’m not expecting The Bellagio fountain show or anything but I was hoping for something a little better than what we got...like you know...enough to actually get the slip and side wet. The little “pools” at the end were actually filling up with water so you would have something to splash in to at the end. I decided THIS was not going to stop us. I get a pitcher and use the water from the “pools”....which are more like puddles but whatever...and throw water on to the lanes. SUCCESS!! For a little while. Do you know how boring it is to be the water pitcher throwing person? I’m supposed to be the adult still acting like a child and enjoying my slip and slide too. Maybe even get a accidental injury because physically I’m too old for this crap but mentally I don’t feel that way. But nope...here I am-doing what moms do trying to keep their kid happy. So, we get smart. We unhook the water hose from the slip and slide and use it to keep the lanes wet and slick, which shortly turned in to us using the water hose on each other. There was my fun time!! There was my laughing and fun memories and I didn’t even have to buy this stupid thing. Save your money, do not purchase this. The water hose is just as much fun as it was in the 90s. Ps. The reason I gave it two stars is because my dry grass and flowers got watered since the water hose was already in the backyard and I took advantage of that. And because we actually had a good time after going old school and using the water hose to chase each other around with. The slip and slide itself would be a -5 stars.
