I have had these for over a year, I do not believe they work. I washed clothes with them and without them and they still smelled. I just left them in thinking I'd still use detergent and if they did anything it was a bonus. My husband does welding and other metal work and the magnets definitely picked up the metal shavings, but I started to wonder if it would be better for them to get rinsed out of the wash. Turns out that the metal shavings trapped under the magnets rusted the spots they were stuck to in my drum.
