The tank and filter does the job, but a completely open filter with no included sponge is just asking for dead fish of all sizes. This is a serious oversight by Aqueon. The lighting is acceptable but nothing to write home about. The plastic enclosure came full of scratches and has only gotten worse in time. On top of that, there is a lot of visual distortion through it, where you have to look at the tank at a particular angle to get a realistic view. The tank is cheap, and you absolutely get what you pay for. However, if you do end up buying it, then at least pick up some filter sponges to cover the vent: Leyouyou520 3 pcs Pre-Filter Foam Sponge Filter for Aquarium Fish Tank. Just keep in mind that you may end up like me; throwing this away and spending the extra money for a non-cheap aquarium.
