Product features: Great Longevity of product: Poor (See attached photos of ripped belts) Evenflo standing behind product: Seemingly good at first; ultimately poor I purchased the older version of this car seat with my first child and loved it, so purchased this exact one for my second child. I still really enjoy the features, particularly the easy-adjust harness and quick-connecting latch system. Since my second purchase, the original car seat seat belts (purchased in 2012) have started to tear. It is happening on both the left and right belt in the same location and seems to be catching on something inside the car seat when the belt size is adjusted-- pulled tighter or loosened (see attached picture). Evenflo said that they could not replace the belt because of the way the car seat is built, but offered to look at photos of the car seat to determine whether this was a manufacturing issue. Great! They had me send in several photos, for which I had to take the car seat apart. As I was taking photos, I noticed some Cheerios and crackers wedged into places, and thought, "This is normal for a car seat. I should be fine sending in these pictures without cleaning these out." I was wrong. I regret the decisions of my past, lazy self. The response I got from Evenflo was this: Since there was food in the car seat, the engineers have determined the ripped belts to be animal damage, as animals would be attracted by the food. Oh, how I wish I would have taken the extra 5 minutes to clean out the food! I informed the representative that the car seat has never left my car, and she told me that animals would smell the food and go through the tail pipe into the car. I informed her that there were no other signs in my car of an animal being in there and also asked about the likelihood of an animal biting through the belt in the same location on both sides of the belt. She told me that the engineers have the final say and that was that. I love the features of this car seat, but I cannot bring myself to purchase another Evenflo product, especially at this expense. I will now go moping-ly search for another company's car seat.
