Not that effective
I have been using a grass-based cat litter for a few years: SmartCat All Natural Clumping Litter. Although I subscribe & save here, I saw this litter and since my grocery store carries it, I thought I would try it out. I will be going back to the SmartCat litter.
The problems:
1) It DOES have dust. I have 5 cats and numerous boxes, and when you are scooping that many, even a little bit of dust starts to affect your breathing.
2) The clumps are not very firm. Even if you leave the clumps for a day, they really don't firm up enough.
3) Perfume-y scent isn't great for me or the cats.
4) The litter is heavy. I don't just mean the box, but when scooping, it weighs down the scooper. Again, not a huge problem with 1 box, but cleaning 5 in a row, my arm is sore.
The grass litter clumps wonderfully, has NO dust, is unscented, and is very light. Wish I could find that in my local store.
>>NOTE: The big draw with the Arm & Hammer was the easy slide feature. No one wants clumps stuck to the box. I get around this with other litters by scrubbing out the box once a month, then spraying a light mist of Pam nonstick spray before I put new litter in. It really works!
