★☆☆☆☆
Not safety certified- not for use in the United States
Product looks really cool with the USB terminals. But upon receiving learned the plastic the product is made from does not feel like your typical ABS you would expect from a product of this type. Updated description plastic is UL 94 V-0, but not known If true at the thickness used. Big issue, the product is not certified for safety by any company. Looking at the back of the product, no UL or similar mark. The cord is UL, but nothing else on the overall product is. Seller email claimed it is FCC and CE, but neither of those marks are evidence that the product has underdone a safety evaluation for sale in the United States. Uncertain if the CE Mark is CE for EU or China Export (they look nearly identical). No certifícate or file number provided. Cord might not be the correct rating, 18AWG seems too low. Updated description claims it includes transient protection, but product is not marked with protection level and no method of confirming protection level. No mention of joules or let through voltage. I could go on, but would require cracking the unit open. Might be good for Amazon to make sure electrical products are certified for safety from any 3rd party certifying agency.
