Scam! Soluble Corn Fiber!
I did like the taste of this, but I hadn't noticed that it had soluble corn fiber. The only reason that you can subtract fiber from the total carbs in keto is because normal fiber has a glycemic index of zero. Soluble corn fiber (aka maltodextrin) actually has an even higher glycemic index than sugar, meaning it will impact your blood sugar to an even greater extent than sugar. That means that if you are calculating net carbs, you cannot subtract the fiber if it is suitable corn fiber. That means that this is actually 7 carbs per serving which is unacceptably high for what this is. To be sure it wasn't just traces of the soluble corn fiber, I tested my blood sugar before and after having this. It raised my blood sugar by more then 40 points. Something with zero net carbs, as this product claims, should have zero impact on your blood sugar. That's the whole point of carb restriction.
It's offensive and predatory that this product claims to be keto friendly and buries this information in the nutrition lable. They are tricking people who are just trying to live a healthy lifestyle. It could even be dangerous for someone with medical conditions requiring blood sugar restrictions. It's a total scam that shows they care nothing for their customers or people in general and are trying to jump on the keto bandwagon to make money.
You can do a google "soluble corn fiber in keto" to find more information about that if you want.
