Do not buy these, they are very dangerous. We had an ELECTRICAL FIRE LAST NIGHT, and THEY DID NOT GO OFF!!! DO NOT BUY . One of the detectors was within five feet of the fire source. Yes the batteries were working, yes we checked them regularly but the unit failed our family when we needed it the most. Safety is not something to gamble with. The worst investment of my life. These went right into the trash after just six months. Thankfully no one was hurt but I shudder to think of the circumstances otherwise POOR quality.
